14th Anna Amalia Competition for Young Guitarists
The 14th Anna Amalia Competition for Young Guitarists will take place from April 23rd to 28th, 2019 in Weimar (Schloss Belvedere Music High School).
Age groups
I: up to 13 years (born after April 23, 2005)
II: 14 – 16 years (born April 24, 2002 to April 23, 2005)
III: 17 – 20 years (born April 24, 1998 to April 23, 2002)

Prices
A 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize is offered in each age group. In addition, a special prize can be awarded for the best interpretation of a classical work as well as the contemporary compulsory pieces and other special and non-cash prizes. The total amount of prizes is approximately €25,000. The jury reserves the right to award the prizes.

Conditions of competition
– The judging auditions are public.
– The order in which the participants appear will be drawn.
– The program submitted with registration is binding; changes are only possible until the registration deadline (February 22, 2017).
– The participant is responsible for compliance with the invitation to tender. If you are unsure about the competition program, the organizer can be contacted. Failure to select a program as advertised will result in disqualification.
– The order of the works can be determined by yourself.
– The program must be recited from memory.
– The grades must be kept available for inspection by the jury.
– The artistic and musical design, stylistics, text fidelity and safety are assessed. The focus is on interpretation. Scores will not be announced.
– The jury’s decisions are final and legal recourse is excluded.
– The award winners are obliged to be personally present at the award ceremony and to perform at the award winners’ concert.
The program is determined by the jury.
– The organizer reserves the right to record and publish the auditions and the prizewinners’ concert. The participant cannot assert any claims from this.
– A valid identity document must be presented upon arrival.
– The costs incurred for participation in the competition must be borne by the participant themselves.
– The organizer is not liable for any personal injury or property damage that occurs in connection with the competition.
– In the event of any discrepancies, only the German version of this advertisement is binding.

Registration for the 14th Anna Amalia Competition for Young Guitarists takes place online (from December 2018) at www.gitarreverein-weimar.de with a simultaneous transfer of a registration fee of €50 by February 22, 2019.
The number of participants is limited. Admission takes place in the order in which registrations are received.
Incomplete or late registrations cannot be considered.
In justified exceptional cases, the registration fee can be paid upon arrival.
The registration fee will not be refunded in the event of cancellation by the participant.
