Competition Rules

  • The programme submitted with the registration is binding; changes are only permitted until the registration deadline.
  • Participants are responsible for complying with the competition rules. In case of any uncertainties regarding the competition programme, the organisers may be contacted. A programme selection that does not comply with the competition rules will result in disqualification.
  • The order of the works may be chosen by the participant.
  • The entire competition programme must be performed from memory.
  • The order of appearance will be determined by lot.
  • Judging will focus on artistic and musical interpretation, stylistic execution, fidelity to the text and confidence. Interpretation is the primary criterion. Scores will not be disclosed.
  • The jury’s decisions are final; no legal recourse is available.
  • Prize-winners are required to attend the prize-giving ceremony in person and, where applicable, to perform at the prize-winners’ concert. The programme will be determined by the jury.
  • The competition rounds and the prize-winners’ concert may be recorded in audio and/or videoformat on behalf of the organiser. A live stream is planned. In addition, selected videos will be published on the Gitarreverein Weimar YouTube channel for at least one year after the competition. Objections to publication beyond this period may be raised at any time. Participants may not assert any claims arising from this.
  • The participant agrees to the non-commercial use of parts of the recordings by the organizer Guitarverein Weimar e.V., e.g. for image films, documentaries or advertising for the competition.
  • A valid personal document must be presented upon arrival.
  • Participants are responsible for covering the costs incurred in taking part in the competition.
  • The organiser accepts no liability for any personal injury or damage to property arising in connection with the competition.
  • In the event of any discrepancies, the German version of these competition rules shall be the sole binding version.
  • By registering, participants accept the above competition terms and conditions.
